The order is the important part, and this itinerary gets it right. Tumpak Sewu first, while your legs are fresh and the descent to the plunge pool is enjoyable rather than punishing. Mount Bromo second, at dawn, from a village on the caldera rim. The crater last, because it is the one that takes a night rather than a morning and because it puts you at the ferry for Bali at the end.
Between them are two nights in real beds: Cemorolawang under Bromo, and Bondowoso on the western approach to the volcano. That second night is what makes the midnight start survivable, and it is the reason this shape works better than trying to compress the same three sites into two days.

The waterfall is magic and the volcano is impressive. You need some condition for this one: five kilometres uphill, two more down into the crater for the blue fire, then back up for the sunrise. Bondan knows a lot about the volcanoes and the plants.
